There are now a great many independent statutory agencies that share an integrity and accountability oversight role in government. They are sometimes spoken of as an integrity system - even a fourth branch of government. Is that a useful concept? What oversight agencies belong to the integrity system? What are the benefits or drawbacks of conceiving of an integrity oversight system in government? The discussion will be led by AAL Fellow, Professor John McMillan AO.
