In this free public event, The Hon Justice Shane Doyle, Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Court of Appeal will speak on applications for a recusal on the ground of apprehended bias, with a particular focus on the duty to sit. Commentary will be provided by The Hon Justice Glenn Martin AM Senior Judge Administrator of the Supreme Court of Queensland, followed by a Q&A session. The event will be chaired by The Hon Justice John Bond, Queensland Court of Appeal.

The Chief Justice of Victoria, the Hon Richard Niall, will have as his theme the use and misuse of statistics and quantification in relation to the work of the courts. The title of his address is Lessons in Mathematics.
