Biography
Dr Michelle Evans-Bonner was appointed a Senior Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) on 1 December 2017. She hears applications across multiple Divisions of the Tribunal including the General, Taxation and Commercial, Small Business Taxation, Veterans, and National Disability Insurance Scheme Divisions. She is a nominated member of the AAT for issuing warrants under various Commonwealth enactments and is an approved examiner under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Cth).

Senior Member Dr Evans-Bonner was previously an Associate Professor at the Curtin Law School at Curtin University. From May 2015 to May 2017 she was the Deputy Head (Deputy Dean) of the Curtin Law School.

She is the co-author of the textbook “Administrative Law”, 2nd edition (2015, LexisNexis Butterworths) published in the LexisNexis Study Guide Series, the lead editor of the book, “Global Perspectives on Subsidiarity” (Springer, 2014), and has published numerous scholarly journal articles throughout her career.

Senior Member Dr Evans-Bonner was previously a Deputy Chairperson and Community Member of the Prisoners Review Board of Western Australia (2015 to 2018), a Member of the Consumer Advisory Committee established under the Fair Trading Act 2010 (WA) (2017 to 2018), and a Community Member of the Regional Appeals Committee at the Department of Housing, Western Australia (2014 to 2015).

She holds a current legal practising certificate from the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia.
