Read the paper "The Daily Nature of Judicial Life" by The Hon Nicholas Hasluck AM KC, as presented at this event.
From the beginning of this year, South Australia has a new Court of Appeal which replaces the previous system of a “rotating” Full Court. This represents a significant change in the Court structure in South Australia.
At the event, Livesey JA examined the changes and what they will mean for the legal profession in South Australia. Leading appellate advocate, Mr Dick Whitington QC, provided a commentary on what the changes are likely to mean for those practising in the appellate jurisdiction in South Australia and Professor Gabrielle Appleby of the University of New South Wales gave an insight into how, if at all, the success of an Appeal Court over time might be measured.
